Do you know how Okhla voted? Find out here

The MCD elections polling ended on Sunday and as the results are to be out on Wednesday, it is important to know how Okhla voted. Though the turnout was good across Delhi, Okhla didn’t witness a high turnout with many residents preferring to stay at home on a Sunday when heat wave was blowing.

Moreover, there were some exemplary showing by some elderly and Aas Mohammed who turned up at the book to exercise franchise. His photo of both hands cut went viral with many dailies carrying it. He was seen with his wife at the booth to cast his vote.

All told, there were many who even stayed at home. According to report the voters’ turnout in Zakir Nagar was 40.1 per cent which was termed as the second lowest in Delhi. In Sarita Vihar the turnout stood at 43.3 per cent; Abul Fazal Enclave 42.3 per cent; Jaitpur 52.1 per cent and Madanpur Khadar 46.4 per cent.

Across the national Capital, voting was sluggish in the morning but picked up later on in the day.

If some residents went on to cast their votes for change there were a few who didn’t turn up and stayed in their house. Of them Abul Fazal Enclave Nakshab was one, who even took on to the social media to express his views.
