Years’ long hard work by Okhla-based engineer and his colleagues to uplift the marginalised people of his hometown Seemanchal has yielded positive result with director of NCPUL (National Council for Promotion of Urdu Languages) Professor Irteza Karim assuring the residents at an international conference of establishment of computer training centres one each at the radius of five kilometres in the most backward region of Bihar.
“As per the norms of NCPUL the computer centres can be established by the educational institutions like colleges, schools, madarsas, etc., non-government organisations. Interested institutions fulfilling the eligibility criteria may submit the application after March 31, 2017 i.e by the start of next financial year,” said Prof Karim while addressing the crowd at an ‘International Educational Conference’ at Sontha High School situated under Kochadhaman block of Kishanganj on December 11.
“We offer certificate courses at the computer centres of NCPUL under the supervision of trained teachers. The enrolled students at NCPUL get first-hand training in computers usage of various softwares such as Microsoft word, excel, etc. that can provide job opportunities starting from Rs 7,000/- per month in different organisations,” said Professor Karim.
Er. Mohammad Aslam, president of Human Chain, who organised the event, welcomed Professor Karim’s announcement. The establishment of computer centres would certainly empower the region of Seemanchal by providing job opportunities to the youths, he said.
“The conference concluded with the speech of Kishanganj MP Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi who praised good works done by the NGO and Aslam,” he said.
The event was organised under the chairmanship of Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani, general secretary All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Amir-E-Shariyat Imarate-Shariya, Bihar & Jharkhand.
Earlier, while delivering the keynote speech, Aslam sought establishment of NCPUL Regional Centre and computer centres in the region, opening of secondary level boys/girls school from Wali Rahmani. Also, he asked for starting of bridge courses by Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for Madarsa passed students, establishment of schools by AMU, opening of branch of Al-Falah University.
