With the arrest of four people from Jamia Nagar, the Aleem Khan case termed by police as a blind murder case has been solved with the recovery of one country-made katta from possession of one accused.
It was on November 22 at about 7 PM two people namely Aleem, a resident of Abul Fazal Enclave, and another one had come to purchase cigarette from a stall near Living Style Mall in Jasola.
“After purchasing the cigarette when they were passing urine a quarrel took place between them and two other boys. In the mean time third person also reached at the spot and started abusing them and took out his country made pistol and fired on a person from close range. The bullet hit his head and after that all the four assailants fled away. The injured Aleem was taken to Apollo hospital where he later on succumbed to his injuries,” said an official.
Initially a case FIR No. 546/16, u/s 307/34 IPC was registered at PS SaritaVihar. Sections of murder case were added during the course of investigation.
As, it was a blind case, a team led by Inspector Mukesh Kumar was formed.
With the help of local informers and technical surveillance, some people who were in touch of the victim were zeroed in. Local police inquiry was made. After persistent efforts, police got the lead and a few people were arrested after which all the accused people were subjected to sustained interrogation in which it was revealed that a minor quarrel took place between Aleem and another accused some time back before the incident, said Romil Baniya, Deputy Commission of Police, South-East District.
