Okhla MLA Amanatullah blames MCD for bad roads.
It was 3:30 and things were going as usual in Okhla. Those who had some work only were out on the road in the blistering heat.
However, on the other side of the road, a Gramin Seva driver was trying hard to extricate his vehicle stuck in the road coming from Tikona Park and going towards Jamia Millia Islamia.
The traffic was going as usual. And just a few metres from the spot were seen Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, AAP youth leader Mahmood Ahmad and a few AAP workers. They were there with a police man to make sure that the traffic is clear and residents enjoy hassle free journey.
For a while, the MLA with Mahmood and others were also seen trying to extricate the Gramin Seva so that the traffic gets smooth. When pointed out about the bad road conditions in the locality, MLA Khan said: “Go and ask the MCD what it is doing nothing to improve the situation here.”
Other AAP workers who were standing there also agreed with the MLA. They blamed the civic agency for the bad road in Okhla. Residents don’t know how long they have to commuted on bad roads.
Gramin Seva drivers and some residents said since morning they faced heavy traffic to be cleared only when the MLA with Mahmood and other workers hit the road.
The road condition in several parts of Okhla is in bad conditions with waterlogging and potholes becoming a normal thing.
