Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan surrenders before Jamia Nagar police station just now with his supporters.
The rally that began from Batla House has come to an end. MLA Khan has gone inside the police station with some of his close associates. A few of his supporters are camping outside saying that they too will surrender with their leader. Police is questioning him. And till the filing of the report it was confirmed that police have decided not to arrest MLA Khan, according to Khan’s lawyer Kamran Mallick.
The report of surrender of the MLA was first reported by OKHLATIMES.COM on Saturday. And according to the report, the MLA was to surrender at the local police station in a case of sexual harassment registered against him on a complaint by his sister-in-law that the MLA has vehemently denied.
However, till that time, only a few of his supporters had turned up at his Batla House resident. Slowly and gradually the supporters started swelling and as the numbers turned moderate, the MLA came out of his house and joined his supporters who started raising slogans in support of him. While marching from Batla House to Jamia Nagar Police Station, the MLA also addressed the media.
He continued to stick to his earlier stand that he was being targeted.
