Okhla MLA Amanatullah’s AAP inning ends abruptly.
Reports have surfaced that AAP has suspended his membership from the party.
The development has come a few days after his remarks against Kumar Vishwas.
It all started after Khan accused founder and senior leader Kumar Vishwas of trying to split the party in collusion with the BJP. Khan’s statement led many MLAs to write letter, demanding the sacking of Okhla MLA.
The first blow came when Khan had to resign from party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC). And in a latest development, the PAC members decided to suspend Khan’s primary membership and made Vishwas the party in-charge for the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan most probably to placate him.
The PAC meeting lasted over three hours. After which Vishwas said “in the last four-five days a process of introspection began in the party” and assured that “whenever course correction is needed, the party leaders would sit together.”
Emerging from the meeting, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said the PAC had expressed its anger at Khan’s statements about Vishwas and had decided to suspend the former from the party.
The AAP has also set up a disciplinary committee to look into the statements made by Khan against Vishwas.
Khan was not available for comment as several attempts to contact failed as he didn’t pick up phone.
However, he told the media that he welcomes the party’s decision.
