Okhla-based Khurshid dies at trade fair; probe on

A 38-year-old man from Okhla had gone to the ongoing India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan. He died on Saturday at 1.25 pm after collapsing in front of a food stall near hall number 6.

Khurshid Ahmed, a native of Bijnaur in Uttar Pradesh, was found unconscious at the Pragati Maidan and was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

A valid entry ticket was found in the deceased possession by police. It is understood that Khurshid was having food at a stall when he suddenly collapsed, police said.

“We have sent the body of the deceased for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, we have contacted the deceased’s family in Uttar Pradesh through the UP police. At 1.25 pm, some visitors saw Ahmed lying unconscious and rushed him to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital in a CATS ambulance. There is no foul play as no external injuries were found on his body,” said a senior police officer.

Police said no injury marks were found on the man’s body. It is suspected that he died due to a cardiac arrest.

Khurshid is survived by his wife and three children–a married daughter and two sons, who live in Bijnor.
Probe is on the incident.

A daily reported that Khursheed was a street hawker who sold street food in Okhla.
