Jamia Nagar Police-Public Library registration attracts huge rush.
The free registration for Jamia Nagar Police Public Library has attracted modest response from the residents in two days, according to its librarian Saba Niaz.
“And looking at its response, the registration has been extended to two more days,” Plasma director Rizwan Khan, who teaches students of the library cum coaching centre for free told OT.COM.
Library opens from 9 to 5 from Monday to Saturday. Several classes from free coaching are to be started, including ETE BeD, graduation Arts and Commerce and IX class. It was five years ago when a unique social initiative to guide needy and deprived students was launched in the locality. And since then, according to Khan, the library has helped many students fulfill their dreams of cracking entrance tests at government and university-level.
Moreover, the initiative was taken to win trust of the residents in post-Batla House shooting incident. “The library has many books so that students can brush up their subjects here. To keep library visitors updated the library has subscribed several national dailies in English, Hindi and Urdu,” said Khan.
The library has made into headlines also with several national dailies running a report. In one such report in Sunday Guardian, Faiz, told the paper: “I come to the library every day. It is of great help to me because I have got a place where I can study.”
