Traffic snarl at Okhla Head has been a cause of worry for residents. And from time to time steps have been taken to address the most burning issue. It is another story that the move till now has failed to yield positive results due to haphazard and driving wrong way by some commuters.
On Friday a fresh move was taken to decongest Okhla Head with some residents and AAP youth leader Mahmood Ahmad being on the spot. “We are removing the barricade to ease traffic snarl. Shopkeepers are being requested to move their stall a bit inside so as to give more space to vehicles and commuters coming from Tikona Park. The move will be fruitful,” said Mahmood.
Some residents agreed and said this will certainly save their time and stop them from taking a detour while coming from Tikona Park to Abul Fazal Enclave and Okhla Head. Moreover, it has been noticed that the barricade too has been removed allowing gramin sevas and other vehicles to go straight from Okhla Head to Batla House. The move has certainly brought smiles back on the gramin seva drivers, who earlier have been complaining of decrease in passengers. It would be interesting to see how the new move works.
