It was about 2 pm today and as life was going on usual, several people were seen standing in front of a biker in Abul Fazal Enclave.
On a closer look it was found that the man on the bike was distributing JIO SIM from free to residents. They only document that residents were asked to handover was aadhar card.
The man on the bike was carrying digital machine to swipe the card and then give new SIM to residents. There was excitement among residents who were taking new SIM for free. A few women too were seen standing there to lay their hands on the card.
“I will also try one. It is good as one can get free services,” said Naseem Ur Rahman, who was also standing for his turn to come. All told, many JIO users lamented that the network in the locality is not good as calls drop from time to time.
Terming the scheme a good one, a JIO user said the biggest problem many people in the locality face is connectivity. It is understood that the network problem is faced by users residing in Batla House too. With high buildings, network is turning out to be an issue for many.
It would be interesting to see how JOI addresses the network issue and how long will it take to smoothen its service in the locality.
