Okhla-based organisation organised a condolence meeting and a candle vigil in front of Gandhi Samadhi, Rajghat, New Delhi, for the brutal killing of 55-year-old Muslim man Pehlu Khan, who was transporting cattle at the hands of cow protection vigilantes in Rajasthan, said Khudai Khidmatgar.
“The vigilantes, who are said to be as Gau Rakshaks did this inhuman activity. Similarly in the same week another incident took place in Jharkhand, that a Muslim boy Mohammad Shalik aged 20, was lynched to death for being in love with a Hindu girl in the same town. Likewise series of attacks and targets creates fear among the Muslims are increasing day by day by some other forms,” it said.
Khudai Khidmatgar’s Faisal Khan said: “The creation of fear among people by the name of religion is not the real mission of protecting the religion, if anyone wants to protect their religion they must really promote the message of peace, love and humanity” only this can protect the religion, attack for cow and love should be stopped or else we believe that people will stop these types of attacks.”
Dr. Kush Kumar Singh, member, Khudai Khidmatgar National Representative Council, said: “I am ashamed of seeing these forms of anti human attacks on Muslims by the name of religion, and I am sure that my religion (Hinduism) does not say to harm anyone.”
Senior Gandhian and KK senior leader Balwant Singh Yaday, during his statement said we will not allow the violence to take place by the name of religion, and whoever doing these are not belongs to any religion, we shall unite together to fight against misuse of religion.
Khudai Khidmatgar Delhi State coordinator Sushil Khanna said: “We (Khudai Khidmatgar) will work hard to tackle these challenges in the society, effectively.”
Rev. Susai Sebastian, Vicar General, Archdiocese of Delhi, participated in this meeting and conveys his sincere condolences against these attacks and extended fullest solidarity and support to fight against injustice, inhuman attacks and all forms of violations in society.
During this meeting a large number of students from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and representatives of Khudai Khidmatgar unit coordinators participated.
