Firoz Ahmed Khan, a resident of Shaheen Bagh, died yesterday due to liver illness, according to his family friends.
“He was suffering from the liver problem for the last two years. And earlier he was under treatment of a specialist liver doctors at Liver Hospital in Delhi. His liver was pumping more blood to body. When his condition deteriorated, a few days ago, we rushed him to a local hospital in Okhla and he succumbed to his disease. There was not enough time to take him to the Liver Hospital,” said Khan’s brother Fasiullah Khan, formerly AMU Old Boys’ Association General Secretary.
The family is originally from Gaya in Bihar.
Hailing form a Zamindar family, Firoz Ahmed was educated in the State. He was self-employed and used to look after family’s land, said sources, adding that for a while he even dabbled into politics and contested MLA election from Sher Ghati unsuccessfully.
Later on he moved to Delhi and was living with his family in the locality and was well known among a particular group of people, who said he will be missed by them. The news about his death was shared by Sarwar Iqbal Khan on his timeline.
Firoz Ahmed was laid to rest in Batla House graveyard and is survived by two children, one son and one daughter, said Fasiullah Khan.
