Noor Nawaz, the ‘torch bearer’ in Okhla’s ward number 102S
Noor Nawaz Khan is a known face in the locality as he runs a coaching institute Study Circle. Besides teaching, he nurses political ambition and is an independent candidate from Okhla’s ward number 102S Abul Fazal Enclave.
Being a Jamia alumnus, who has lived in Okhla for years, Noor Nawaz is well aware of the problems the residents are battling. In an interaction with OT.COM he said his only purpose to take political plunge is to bring changes in the locality for good. Contesting on a battery torch, he is all hopeful to sail through.
He said he is running a quiet campaign in the locality, concentrating more on building rapport with the residents. Like other candidates, he has launched door-to-door campaign in the locality that he claims is yet to develop after many years. He said the area lacks in basic amenities, like sewer, road infrastructure, piped water and other issues.
With the MCD elections just a few days away to be held on April 23, other candidates too have electrified their campaign. Moreover, the highest number of candidates contesting from ward number 102 S with more than 25 candidates in the fray according to rough estimates.
