Schools of Noida are to be closed tomorrow. According to a message from a private school in Nodia, the school will remain closed on Friday 10th February as many of the school buses are being utilised for UP elections.
The first phase of election in begins on February 11. Uttar Pradesh will vote in a seven-phase election for its 403 seats on 11, 15, 19, 23 and 27 February, and 4 and 8 March. The election is going to be a litmus test for ruling SP-Congress alliance and well as the BJP that is banking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s magic.
Moreover, this is also going to be test for BJP in a big State after it implemented note ban last year leading to chaos among Indians for a few days.
To improve its performance in UP, India’s oldest party Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi has an alliance with SP headed by UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav after he sided his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Elections in two States Punjab and Goa ended a few days ago. For political pundits elections in UP is important as it will decide the future fate of BJP also. Up against anti-incumbency, the SP is positive of sailing through this time around.
