After working on the lead for three months, success comes agencies way as they succeeded in arresting the mastermind in the murder case of National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer Tanzil Ahmed, who basically from UP had adopted Okhla as his second home.
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) nabbed Muneer (35) from Noida.
“Muneer, who masterminded the murder, and his accomplice Adnan were arrested by the STF. Muneer was carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh,” IG (STF) Ramkumar told reporters and PTI reported.
Ahmed (45) was killed on the intervening night of April 2 and 3 when he was driving back to Delhi after attending a family wedding at Sahaspur village in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. He was shot dead by two bike-borne men 24 times. His wife Farzana Khatoon and his children too were travelling with him. Khatoon too had received bullet injuries and succumbed to her injuries 10 days after the incident at AIIMS. The two children aged 14 and 12 had survived the attack as their father had asked them to duck in the back seat of the vehicle.
After the murder, the body of Tanzil, a Jamia alumnus, was transported to Okhla in Abul Fazal Enclave. And he was buried in Batla House graveyard. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had visited the graveyard. Tanzil was given guard of honour.
