Since the posters in Okhla surfaced about the UP-led Akhilesh Government handing over land for graveyard to the residents ahead of elections in the State and Delhi local polls, the debate in the locality has been: where are the papers?
The debate was laid to rest this morning when one resident and most probably supporter of SP Tahir Ali posted a message on his timeline with a few photos. “Aaj abul fazal mai sichai vibhag ki zameen pr qabristaan ki jagah ki nishaan dehi karai gai jisme abul fazal aur sichai vibhag ke logo ki maujoodgi rahi. (The irrigation department officials turned up at Abul Fazal Enclave to point out about a land in the locality),” he wrote.
OKHLATIMES.COM was unable to independently verify the development. It is now known how much land is going to be handed over to the residents for graveyard. Moreover, it is also not known whether the land will be handed over to the Delhi Wakf Board as the locality is in Delhi.
A few days ago, a lawyer-turn activist Kamran Mallik had sparked debate on the social media by asking for the original documents showing the transfer of the land for graveyard. All told, the move will certainly hot up political activities in the locality as the offering of graveyard will only go in favour of SP candidate in the upcoming local Delhi election.
