Know General Shah’s opinion about new AMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mansoor

Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran), who today handed over the charge of Vice Chancellor to Professor Tariq Mansoor praised the new Vice Chancellor in his leaving message. He said Prof Mansoor has been selected by the Alig Community and he will prove to be more successful because he already understands the dynamics of AMU and possibly knows most teachers by name.

Meanwhile, General Shah also added that he intends to leave on May 17, 2017, quietly, without fanfare and that it is a great relief for him as he gave AMU, all that he had.

“We had strived to achieve Number 1 slot by 2017, unfortunately we could not achieve this target but the foundation has been laid and AMU will soon achieve its aim,” said General Shah adding that the portents are good. “The ‘India Today’ survey 2017 has announced that the Faculty of Law, AMU has moved from 6th to 2nd position; Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College is the 8th best Medical College and Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology has also done very well,” said General Shah.

He further said it was great honour to have served the cause of education and I do hope Allah gives me energy to continue in my quest to open secular schools for our children. “We could not do it through AMU because of the restrictions in the AMU Act, but the Maulana Azad Education Foundation will do it for us,” pointed General Shah.
