An Okhla-based organization has honoured NDTV journalist Sonal Mehrotra. She received Dr Q H Khan Excellence Award 2016 in journalism by a senior journalist Saba Naqvi at an event held in Abul Fazal Enclave.
Though a newsmaker, Mehrotra was in the news a few days ago when she was warned while covering JNU incident. The journalist said that her cellphone was snatched from her till she wrested it back. “Delete the video or we will break your phone and break your bones,” she was ordered.
She said 10-15 lawyers were asking people, “Are you from JNU?” and then began attacking reporters.
“Every year we give award to people who do good work. In the journalism category the panelist, including journalists and experts, agreed on giving the award to Mehrotra,” said Rizwan Khan, director of Plasma Coaching that distributed the award.
Dr Farasat Hussain, a well-known doctor, was the chief guest. In his address he praised the work being done by Plasma in shaping future of the youth by guiding them in the right directions.
