Muslims join BJP in OKhla

As Delhi is getting ready for the MCD elections to be held on April 23 many political aspirants are moving one party to other in Okhla for better political prospect. Reports have surfaced that many Muslims have joined BJP on Friday.

muslimsjoinbjpokhlaSome former AAP and JD(U) members, according to reports, have joined the BJP with name doing the rounds is of Wasim Saifi, an active AAP worker in Okhla. However, the buzz in the locality is that he was not holding any position in the party.

The joining of these leaders took place at an event where BJP leader Rajiv Babbar and Delhi Minority leader  Atif Rasheed were also present with other senior BJP leaders.

“Be it BMC election or Uttar Pardesh assembly elections, Muslims contributed lot. The party will give equal opportunity to all communities,” said Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari.

Member of Parliament (MP) Maheish Girri said: “We will give equal opportunities to all communities and will encourage women empowerment.”

And as the politics heat up in Okhla, an avid supporter of AAP Sultan was seen waiving BJP flag in Abul Fazal Enclave. Moreover, a BJP flag was hanging in his house in the locality.

He said he had joined the BJP a few months ago.

Sultan catapulted into popularity in the locality as he was seen campaigning with Congress’ Asif Md Khan earlier. But he changed the camp as he was seen supporting Amanatullah Khan avidly during the last Assembly election, said sources, adding that however now he appeared disillusioned with both the parties.
