Sister of Navaid Hamid, president of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat headquartered in Okhla has met with an accident. “My sister was operated past midnight after an accident last evening and is in ICU. Needs you prayers for speedy recovery,” wrote Hamid in his timeline.
His post solicited several comments with many praying for his sister’s quick recovery. A close associate of Hamid said she is admitted in Ganga Ram Hospital. Hamid said she met with accident while walking through Zebra crossing at Karkadoma Court. “Some biker jumped the red light and hit her hard. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors attended on her. Her five ribs have been fractured. Also, her lung was bust in the accident and there was internal bleeding. Right now she is recuperating in the hospital, Hamid told OKHLATIMES.COM.
Victim Saheba Hamid is 36 years old and works with the BSES.
Road accidents are taking place in Delhi and it has been seen that passersby don’t help victims. To bring an end to such things, the Delhi Government in its Cabinet meeting held on Friday announced to give Rs 2,000 reward to people helping victims.
“Under the scheme, people, who are helping road accident victims, will be rewarded with Rs 2,000 and appreciation certificate by the Government,” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told reporters in a Press conference.
In 2015, 8,085 accidents had taken place in the Capital.
