Cash-strapped Mushawarat seeks donation

Cash-strapped Mushawarat seeks donation. The new president of Mushawarat has written a letter seeking donations to keep the umbrella organisation of Muslims alive. He wrote this letter and shared it on local WhatsApp group.

“All India Muslim Majlis e Mushawarat is oldest Advocacy group of Indian Muslims, launched 52 years back by Muslim leaders in mid 60s after two days deliberations in Nadwatul Ulama Lucknow and its first President was Dr. Syed Mehmood, freedom fighter former Minister in Nehru Cabinet. It has a long history of serving the community in its struggle to get equitable justice, for Hindu Muslim unity, defending its religious and legal rights and in formation of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and AMU Action Committee for restoration of its minority character, in struggle for Babri Masjid and in reaching communal strife areas and extending help with its limited resources.

“AIMMM is facing financial crunch as is in need of dire monetary help from all well wishers of community. All those who understands role of advocacy group would agree that in this difficult era of hostilities, AIMMM which is the only confederation of organisations and is considered as an apex body of Indian Muslims needs to be supported.

“After assuming charge of the office of President, I had personally ensured that organisations or people of eminence who have distanced themselves from or had left Mushawarat for one or the other reason are persuaded to become part of this federation and now 14 Muslim organisations of repute are part of the AIMMM. Many individuals who have contributed for the community and have excelled in their respective areas have also joined Mushawarat to serve community as a joint group.

“We request all well wishers to donate generously so that Mushawarat can play a fearless role for raising issues of community. Friends desires to donate can send donations.

“Those desiring to send Zakat and other charities in Mushawarat Relief Account are requested to contact for Mushawarat’s separate Relief Account details,” wrote Navaid Hamid, president AIMMM.
