Resident’s act sparks 4-day internet blackout in parts of Batla House

Resident’s act sparks internet blackout in parts of Batla House. For the last four days Youtuber Wasi Imam, who resides in Muradi Road, is unable to use internet.

“There is internet black out in the locality. I use MTNL and one day there was no connection. When asked for the reasons for blackout, officials told me that a resident has cut the wire while building a concrete road over a nallah under which the wire was kept. Now the officials are working to locate the wire by cutting the illegally constructed concrete and it is taking time,” Imam told OKHLATIMES.

Earlier too many such cases have taken place. Recently a few people were arrested from NFC for cable theft, leading to internet blackout in the locality. A few days ago due to some technical snag thousand of MTNL connections in several parts of Okhla had gone dead.

Many residents are convinced that the issue of cable theft and internet blackout can be resolved if fiber wires are laid across Okhla. Currently, the MTNL has laid fiber in several parts of Delhi. It is not known when Okhla’s number will come as a large number of residents have started using MTNL services.
