MP Girri raises impure drinking water leading to health issues in Noor Nagar, Shaheen Bagh

BJP National Secretary and East Delhi MP MaheishGirri has taken up the critical issue of impure drinking water with Delhi Jal Board’s Chief Executive Officer requesting him to initiate quick steps on resolving this vital problem of the local people.

The MP further demanded that in case where the health of the people deteriorates as a result of consuming impure drinking water, then it should be considered as the responsibility of the Delhi Government and Jal Board to bear cost of their medical care.

MP Maheish Girri also mentioned that, people are discontented because of the shortage of water in his constituency. In certain places, the condition is so bad that, the drinking water is getting mixed with sewerage water. People are forced to drink such impure water. He also mentioned that, despite requesting top executives, no serious steps seem to have been taken to control the situation.

Expressing regret, Maheish Girri mentioned that, residents of East Delhi, encompassing Noor Nagar, Shaheen Bagh, Bholanath Nagar, VivekVihar, Ambedkar Camp, Aradhak Nagar, Sanjay Camp, Sonia Camp & many other areas are facing numerous water problems.

Neither the water pipeline nor the tankers of Delhi Jal Board are available. The Delhi Government is directly responsible for the situation wherein people are being forced to face serious health issues by drinking under-ground water.

MP also mentioned that the Delhi Government and Jal Board will be responsible if people face health issues after drinking such water. It should be the responsibility of the Jal Board and Delhi Government therefore to bear the costs of their medical care.
