A mosque in Okhla has made appeal to residents and devotees during Friday prayer today for contributing generously so that one month power bill of Rs 30,000 could be paid on time, according to residents who had gone to the mosque for offering prayer.
A resident said devotees were also informed that how a vacuum cleaner donated by a resident has gone bust leading to difficulties in keeping the mosque clean.
The man, who was making announcement from the mosque pulpit, said as the battery was of low quality the vacuum used for cleaning the floor covered by carpets went bust a few days ago and hence it is necessary to purchase a new one.
The new one is available for Rs 30,000, he said.
It appears that the mosque immediately needs Rs 60 thousand to tide over its need.
Charminar Mosque in Abul Fazal Enclave has seven ACs installed on its ground floor and is used during prayers five times a day. The Air Conditions are mostly used during summer and hence the high bills.
Of late several mosques in Okhla and other parts of the country have installed Air Conditions.
Last month too an appeal regarding paying power bill of Rs 27,000 was made by the mosque, said a resident.
