Moot Court Competition: Aiman Chisti, Aleem Syed and Anas Khan winner

Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia organizes the Intra Faculty Moot Court Competition

A three-day Intra Faculty Moot Court Competition was organized by the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia islamia in which the team comprising Aiman Chisti, Aleem Syed and Anas Khan was adjudged the winner.

Eight teams qualified to the semifinals from among the 24 participating teams having students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) courses during the three day competition from 3rd to 5th February, 2017.

The event was inaugurated by the Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof. Nuzhat Parveen Khan who delivered the welcome address. The Programme Coordinator, Dr. Mohd. Asad Malik informed that a civil case was chosen for the Competition. The selection of plaintiff and respondent were made through draw of lots.

The case was argued by the teams before the Bench comprising of Irshad Ahmad Khan, Additional Advocate General UP Govt., Aftab Ali, Advocate on Record, Supreme Court, Mehmood Pracha, Advocate Supreme Court, Nabeela Wali, Metropolitan Magistrate, and Zeba Khair, Legal Advisor, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The teams including Arka Parava Dass, Mahoor and Anamta Hamid and Aiman Chisti, Aleem Syed and Anas Khan appeared in the final rounds before Bench.

Justice Yogesh Khanna, Judge Delhi High Court who was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function shared his experiences with the participating teams and encouraged the students to partake in such activities.

Firdaus Wani, Advocate on Record Supreme Court of India also shared her experiences as a student of Jamia with the students.
