Mobile users beware in Okhla! This story of woman in Shaheen Bagh will leave you stumped

If you think that walking on Okhla roads flaunting your phone is safe then think twice. The locality is allegedly fast becoming the favourite haunt of petty thieves with robbers on bikes having filed day.

Though there is no statistics, cases of mobile snatching by bikers are on the rise. Many residents have complained that while walking on the roads with their mobile in their hands have turned out to be risky affair. The case in point is an incident in Shaheen Bagh where three youths on a bike snatched mobile of a woman, who had just alighted from an e-rickshaw and was giving money to the driver.

“I was returning from my office to my house in Shaheen Bagh. I got down at thokar number 8 from an e-rickshaw and as I was giving money to the driver, it was then that three boys on a bike came and snatched my Samsung mobile and ran away.

“I fell down and started shouting for help but the boys made their way. The incident took place on January 28, Azra wrote in her complaint to police.

If you think it as an isolated case then hold your breath as there are many such stories doing the rounds in Jamia Nagar.

“I was heading house from Maharani Bagh towards Shaheen Bagh via Jamia Millia Islamia on foot. I reached Tikona Park and two boys on a bike talked to me and stole my phone Lenova. I could not see the number plate of the bike. I can identify the boys if I see them. The time was around 12 AM,” Ali Khan wrote in his complaint.
