It’s finally ready; nameplate up

Years of speculation whether Islamia will be added to Jamia Millia metro stand has come to rest after the name plate was put a few days ago and it is for you to see that the full name has been added.

Though the exact date when Metro will start operating in Okhla with some speculating it to begin in October, work is going on high speed with a resident even sharing a video of the metro travelling on this line as the trial is going on a few days ago.

Residents are waiting eagerly for the operation to begin so that they could enjoy the ride. The Metro is going to link Jamia Millia, Jamia Nagar and Batla House with the rest of the national Capital. Moreover, it will also save time of Jamia students who come from far places in the Capital. Also, the operation of the Metro will give boost to local businesses particularly in Batla House as it would be easily accessible for food buffs with eateries mushrooming in the locality.

The operation of the Metro will also bring smiles on the faces of office goers as it would save their travelling time. But it could also impact auto wallahs. Phat phat seva that plies residents from Batla House to Jama Masjid and vice-versa might also face the heat.
