Inauguration in a few hours in Abul Fazal Enclave; preparations in full swing

It appears that Okhla residents’ dream of riding a metro is just a few weeks away with preparations in full swing for the inauguration of the police station today in a few hours time, according to sources.


The metro station in Abul Fazal Enclave that usually till now was wearing a deserted look has gone hyper active with officials and workers moving around to make sure that everything is in order before the Delhi police commissioner lands in the locality at about 4 PM to cut the ribbon for the police station for the metro, said sources.

It was a few months ago when metro started its first trial in the locality with residents getting happy. The starting of the metro in the locality is expected to connect Jamia Nagar, a deprived locality, with the rest of the Delhi. Also, it will ease traffic woes of hundreds of thousands of residents who regularly go to their officers daily.

Moreover, the markets and eateries will also see rise in their business with residents from across the national Capital flocking the area. All told, the inauguration ceremony has been welcomed by residents who said that it appears that in a few weeks time metro will start operational.
