A few days ago Batla House road was constructed by the DMRC and the residents appreciated it. The road that had developed several potholes has been not only been smoothened but also made sturdy. However, some residents have lamented to a few obtruding metals on the road.
It has been like this for a while, said a resident, adding that it is just inviting accident in the locality. Anyone can step over it and fall, said another resident. The locality lies in ruin with roads developing potholes in many parts of the locality.
What is worse, according to some residents, that nobody is concerned safe a few people, including prospective leaders, raising the issue on the social media with little impact on the ground level. Road to Batla House close by Okhla Head is worst hit with waterlogging a perennial issue, claimed a few residents giving an impression as if Okhla is not in Delhi.
The unfortunate part is that Jamia Nagar has a large number of people who want to become leaders by doing little and for many developmental work is not an issue as voting happens on caste, region and muscle power.
And that is why despite local election just a few months away little work has taken place.
