Sarwar Khan is a resident of Shaheen Bagh and is emerging boxing star in India.
He made his name in the recently held North Region World MAC India Games in Dehradun from Sept 29 to Oct 1. Khan impressed judges and his opponent with his extraordinary skills in the tournament by scooping gold medal in welter weight category, Tanveer Chaudhary, who trained him and hone his skills told OKHLATIMES.COM.
Tanveer is a resident of Okhla and an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia, who train students in martial art.
“It was a proud moment for not only Khan by our institute also. The boy has skills and if he continues his practice with support from his family members then for sure he will make name for himself in boxing. He is hard working and very devoted towards his profession. I am happy that my hard work has paid. We hope that more of our trained athletes bag more medals in the upcoming competition,” said Chaudhary.
Despite having no local sports infrastructure in Jamia Nagar and open ground, it is an achievement that is worth praising, said Naseem Ur Rahman. This only shows that dedication and hard work can pay you in the long run and Khan is the best example, said Rahman, a resident of Okhla.
