Md Nizam is a social activist who for long has been nursing his dream to serve the locality. Despite not succeeding this time around in getting any ticket from a recognized party, he has taken a political plunge from Okhla’s ward number 102S Abul Fazal Enclave as an independent candidate.
And now, after getting auto symbol he and his team are all ready to sail through. Up against candidates of established party, Nizam is hopeful of a win from the ward.
“Several NGOs have agreed to back my candidacy. Moreover, I have been working as an activist for the last many years. This time around I will win,” he said.
Earlier, Nizam was with the AAP and also runs an NGO in the locality. He claimed that his NGO has done a lot of work in the locality like even resolving marital disputes.
A few days ago, he took a delegation of local residents to the L-G’s office where he submitted a memorandum to a senior official there, demanding improvement in civic facilities in the locality.
With less than 15 days left in the April 23 MCD elections, campaigning is going on with all candidates trying their best to win hearts and minds of the voters, promising to improve the locality if voted to power.
