Maulana Raza Khan’s visit rekindles hope of Deoband-Barelvi bonhomie

Maulana Raza Khan’s visit rekindles hope of Deoband-Barelvi bonhomie? A visit of Maulana Taukeer Raza Khan, a Barelvi, and religious leader to Deoband was talk of the social media with all and sundry sharing the photo with comments. The common perception is that his visit to Deoband will bring in Deoband’s Sunni and Barelvi on one platform.

The post also pointed out that Maulana Arshad Madni, who is Denmark, called him up and welcomed him to the seminary. The issue of bonhomie between Deoband-Barelvi has been at the centre of attraction for long with Deobandis being a bit apprehensive after the BJP government came to power at the Centre.

What transpired in the meeting is not known, but many religious watchers are of the opinion that the meeting would send a positive message to the followers.
