“It was during Zuhr time that he had gone to perform prayer in a local mosque. After performing wudu he fell and died on the spot. He was 80 years old and used to work with CGHS, a government organisation. He has been living in the locality for the last 15 years,” Mushtaque’s son Md Saleem told OKHLATIMES.

It is understood that people had rushed to help him but by that time his condition deteriorated. He was brought back to home and is to be buried in Batla House graveyard with his sons being informed by residents.

Md Mustaque was a known figure in the locality in AFE as he used to interact with locals and was known as chacha among the residents.

“We will miss him. He died today in Sitara Mosque,” said Md Rashid, who runs a tailoring shop in H Block of AFE. Many local residents turned up at the house to pay their last obeisance. Md Mushtaque is survived by six sons, a resident said.
