Know why 72-year-old widow Mahrunnissa is picketing outside Jamia Nagar police station in blistering heat

Mahrunnissa, 72, is picketing outside Jamia Nagar police station, seeking action against people involved in forcibly occupying her house in Zakir Nagar. Another effort was made today, according to Pervez Alam Khan, who with Asif Md Khan and others are also at the police station. While interacting with the media, Asif said miscreants also fired in the air.

Residents are upset with the development.

One user Muzaffar wrote: “In Okhla area, where 97 per cent residents are Muslims, and it is month of Ramdan, and a few peoples are trying to taking flat from a widow by force. How is it possible? And how peoples are quite, if people are not telling and doing against this unjust, I do not think they are Muslims. How there fasting and praying will be accepted by Allah. But it is now character of Muslims, all over the world and especially in India…”
