MP Maheish Girri’s initiative for specially-abled: Inspired by our PM, Narendra Modi, Maheish Girri, MP East Delhi, organised Seventh Camp under Divyang Sashaktikaran Yojna, in which he initiated assessment camps for the distribution of artificial limbs and other smart kits to specially abled and intellectually challenged under privileged people.
One such camp was held at Community Center, Baldev Park on 16th July. Around 400 specially abled participated in the Assessment Shivir.
Empathising with the specially Abled, Girri feels that it is the duty of society to take care of those who are physically or mentally challenged . In this view, he wrote to Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu and DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh to provide a pass for the visually impaired to make their metro travel free of cost.
A 25-year-old boy Ram Dayal, perusing his graduation came for the camp. Although he cannot see whats happening around him but was easily able to feel the warmth of support he got in the camp.
He was subsequently registered for free smart cane kit with tablet to groom his future. He thanked Girri for the same and appreciated the initiate took by him for Free Travel in metro for the blind.
Under the Divyang Sashaktikaran Yojna, after assessment the specially-abled will be given artificial limbs, tricycles, motorised tricycle, smart cane, smart kits for hearing, hearing aids, wheelchairs etc.
The camp was graced by Sansad Representative, Hari Arora, BJP, Maha Mantri Shravan Dixit, eval Kishan, Mandal Adhyaksh, and local councellor Jai Gopal Verma followed by the eminent party workers.
