Admission notification for class XII – an initiative by the Ministry of Minority Affairs through Maulana Azad Education Foundation for mainstreaming the madrasa students and school dropouts has been issued and interested candidates can avail the facility in Jamia.
A notice issued by the school said: “Direct admission to class XII (science and arts) at Jamia Sr. Sec. School under academic session 2017-18.”
Students are to get several facilities, including free of cost books, stationery and other support materials; continuous internal assessment; monthly stipend and reimbursement of monthly food and accommodation charges.
Eligibility for admission: Madrasa students who have passed Fauqania/Alim Fazil exam form any recognised Madrasa Board. School drop-outs who passed class X exam from any recognised Board in or before 2015-16 but did not continue schooling due to any reason.
The contribution of Jamia Senior Secondary School towards fulfilling the dream of this government scheme has been immense as last year it had enrolled 100 such students as part of a bridge course in Class XII to provide them quality education.
“It was tough for us to find drop-outs or Madrasa students to enroll in the course. We finally approached some NGOs who worked with school drop-outs to help us,” Principal Muzaffar Hassan told the IE last year.
