Who is Zubair Khan, the 'spy' picked up from Shaheen Bagh?

After the arrest of Zubair Khan from Okhla on the night of July 17 for alleged violation of the Official Secret Acts several stories about him is doing the rounds in the locality. Everybody is asking: Who is Zubair? Why and when was he arrested?

(Late night arrest of Shaheen Bagh youth stokes anger among locals, road blocked) Originally from Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, 36-year-old Zubair is resident of C block of Shaheen Bagh (lives in a 50 square-yard house) and gets Rs 10,000 a month salary. Married to Mahenoor Khan in 2003, he was a product of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

After completing his studies he dabbled in the media for a while. But at the time of his arrest he was working with Real Investors clinic as property agent. Also he spent some time with Hindi weekly Kanti, a Jamat-E-Islami (JEI) publication.

On his Facebook page he claims to know Arabic, English, Hindi and Urdu.

From Aug 2002 to Oct 2004, he was at JNU studying M.A Urdu literature with specialization of Mass Media. He graduated from JMI in 1999. Also he was at AMU and claims to have done Master of Theology and M.Th Sunni.

He studied at J.D.S. Arabic College Oomerabad.

In the FB profile Khan claims himself to be product of AMU, JAMIA, JNU and JDSA College.

He has 600 friends in the virtual world. His date of birth is given August 3 and the year is missing. He describes himself as a social activist, manager and journalist. (What leaders, family members and cops say)
