Regularization of illegal colonies: CM expresses her annoyance over slow processOT, June 28, 2012 07:28 IST Okhla Times Reporter/New Delhi While addressing residents of welfare associations’ members of North West Delhi on June 27 at Bhagidari workshop, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit informed them about her government’s move to offer regularization certificates to representatives of unauthorized colonies. Also, she confirmed that this time certificates would be foolproof so that no forum could challenge them. Following the Congress rout in the recently held Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Sheila has unrolled many sops for residents to win them back. Of them regularization of unauthorized colonies is top on her agenda. The fate of unauthorized colonies including Abul Fazal Enclave, Shaheen Bagh and others is yet not known. Senior Delhi Congress leaders strongly feel that by regularizing more than 1,639 colonies across the city will help the party bounce back into power in the soon to be held Assembly Elections. This time around, sounding serious about the developmental projects in unauthorized colonies, Sheila said her government wants to continue the work forward. “The process of regularization of such colonies is a complex one. The Government has since overcome all difficulties in this regard. The Delhi Government is also keen to issue foolproof regularization certificates to such colonies so that these could not be challenged at any forum; that is why the City Government is carefully concentrating on the process,” she said at Talkatora stadium where the Bhagidari workshop is going on. Eager to regularize maximum unauthorized colonies at one go at the earliest, the CM expressed her annoyance over slow progress in regularization process. It is understood that the move will benefit some 50 lakh residents. Post a comment Top News
