The poor condition of a patch of road close by Holy Family Hospital and Escort has not only made things difficult for commuters but also for some patients. The regular water logging makes traveling on the road difficult. Also, stink coming out of sewerage water is unbearable.

The road just close to Julaina chowk needs immediate attention. But due to slow work by the Delhi Jal Board the situation has gone from bad to worst.

Besides, many potholes are left open in front of Escort leading to minor accidents.

Faraz Khan met with an accident a few days ago on this road when his bike got stuck in the pothole. “It was night and the street light was not working and suddenly my bike skid. I flew and landed on the road. I was lucky that the bike got stuck in the hole otherwise it would have landed on me. Other commuters rushed and picked me up. I received minor injuries.”

He said since then nothing has changed as people continue to drive on the road. “Officials have done nothing to fix the problem. It is a death trap.”

Things are in a mess. A few meters from the site many people urinate in the open and at night time it is difficult for residents to even pass across.

The water logging has led to traffic snarl. There is fear among residents that with monsoon a few days away, things might deteriorate further with mosquito breeding. Business of vendors too has been hit with people not willing to hand around in the area for long.
