More than 15 days gone, Okhla cops yet to act against 'fraudster'OT, December 17, 2011 23:42 IST Okhla Times Reporter/AFE
More than 15 days ago Abul Fazal Enclave-resident Firoz Ahmad informed a local police station about a man, who cheated him of Rs 430. Equipped with the impersonator’s mobile number and other documents, he had expected the police to crack the case within minutes. But till the filing of the report on Saturday the cops are yet to swing into action. Moreover the BSES too had raised its hand up. “My family members got worried and called me. I too was unable to understand the whole matter. But I was told that if I pay Rs 430 fine then nothing would happen. I agreed to this and thus the money was paid.” The complaint letter that Ahmad submitted to PS Jamia Nagar on November 28 mentions: “The alleged BSES men didn’t give any receipt. When my family member insisted, one person gave his name Rajesh and his mobile number: 8010874785.”
When Ahmad had gone to the BSES office at Community Centre he tried to narrate the story to one official Prashant Verma so that Rs 430 could be docked from his balance. But he was told that no such man works for BSES and hence it was a case of fraud. Since then Ahmad has been visiting different departments to get justice. He says: “The number of Rajesh is working. A few days ago when I spoke to him he told me that he would return the money. But nothing has happened. I don’t understand why the police are not acting against him? This only shows how careless the local police station is in handling even minor cases.” Post a comment Top News
