MLA Khan seeks Rs 4 crore govt aid for development of OkhlaOT, 0 IST Okhla Times Reporter/Kalindi Kunj MLA Md Asif Khan has a dream to turn Okhla into a model town. For this he has sought Rs 4-crore aid from the Sheila Dikshit Congress government, according to his media coordinator Md Sattar. He said the MLA seriously wants to develop the area, but we don’t have the required funds. “We have requested the Delhi government to sanction us Rs 4 crore for developmental work in the locality, but till now we have not succeeded.” Despite Okhla being in Delhi, it lacks in basic facilities like drinking water, sewer and others.
In many places choked sewer has led to water logging. With Municipal Corporation non-functional in the area it has become extremely difficult for the residents to get things cleaned up. For getting this work done we need huge funds, said Sattar adding: “The MLA has been meeting ministers, officials and Chief Ministers to get the money so that work can be done. Though we have got the clearance but the problem is that the money cannot be used until and unless we get no objection certificate (NOC) from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)”, he said. MLA Asif told OKHLA TIMES that he is soon going to meet PWD minister and others so that the funds can be expedited. Post a comment Top News
