Habib, founder of Babri Masjid Action Committee, dies at 64

Zakir Nagar resident Javed Habib, who was formerly president of AMU students’ union (1977-78), died of a heart attack this afternoon at his residence, according to his close family friend. Habib, one of the founders of All India Babri Masjid Action Committee (AIBMAC), was 64 years old.

His wife Zubaida Habib is associate professor Education Department, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI).

A prolific writer, Habib, who used to edit Urdu weekly Hujoom, will be buried after Friday prayer tomorrow (October 12) at Batla House graveyard a stone’s throw away from central university JMI. He was president of Bharati Majlis.

A former AMU students’ union president Z K Faizan confirmed this report at social network theAligarhForum.

Born in Rajasthan’s Tonk, Habib joined AMU in 1969 at PUC Education. He continued his education collecting many degrees during his stay at the university including B. A., M. A. in Political Science.

Mourning his death at social network worldofaligs, the moderator Dr Raza wrote: “He will be missed in all the Muslim circles for his services. The WOA moderators send their very sincere condolences to the family of deceased. We share the grief of his family.”

The news of his death was shared at WOA by a former MP Waseem Ahmad.
