She was raised in Jamia Nagar 25 years ago, now she doesn’t live here still her letter is worth reading

I don’t live in Jamia now but I was raised there almost 25 years back, by Kalpana Sharma.

It used to be much better in terms of population, traffic and social values. With time, a lot of things have changed. I would have been happy if it was for better.

Though metro has come up; yet to be functional I know but traffic isn’t taken care of, maze of overhead wires, two way traffic on narrow roads, open sewer, abuse of drugs by young ones at wee hours has made a place unsuitable for people like to relate to my kind of Jamia.

The Jamia’s proxy councillor is never available even for senior citizens.

OT.COM reports that Klapana has raised some pertinent questions in her letters to the editor. Many residents laments to the deteriorating law and order situation in the locality. Moreover, the unavailability of basic civic amenities worry majority of the residents.

Over the years, Okhla has only gone from bad to worse with roadside encroachment, traffic snarls, garbage and other issues turning out to be major issues for the residents.
The locality has also seen rise in road accidents taking place due to rash driving. It was only on March 8 when a car had allegedly hit a biker with the rickshaw puller sustaining injury.
