Sheikh Imran Alam is NCP candidate from Okhla’s ward number 102S. A Shaheen Bagh resident, Alam is a lawyer. “I have given free legal aid to students leaders of JNUSU when they were facing trial for their protests against killing of their president Chander Shekhar at Siwan,” said Alam, who like other candidates is girding up for the big fight on April 23.
A practising advocate for the last 21 years at Delhi High Court and Supreme Court, Alam was president, AMU Lawyers’ Forum, Delhi (2015-17) and completed his graduation from Aligarh Muslim, University, UP.
Moreover, 51-year-old Alam is also counsel for All India Haj Committee, Govt. of India for the last 18 years. Son of a farmer, Alam landed to in Delhi in 1989, and over the years established himself as a lawyer and social activist.
“I have organised several legal awareness campaigns for the public in this ward and have contested various cases for economic weaker sections especially for women. As president of AMU Lawyers’ Forum, Delhi, I am widely accepted amongt the educated persons of this ward and I am confident of winning from this ward as a Nationalist Congress Party candidate.
And as only 15 days are left for the final day, candidates are doing all they could to win hearts and minds of residents.
