The MP handed over a letter to Special Commissioner to ensure adequate security and requested him that strict action should be taken to control the criminal activities in East Delhi.
The step in this direction would create an atmosphere of fear among criminals and they would fear of executing even the small crimes, he said. The MP also appreciated and praised the brave act of Mukesh Kumar Hooda, the Delhi Police Constable, posted in the Gita Colony Police Station.
Girri said he has also requested Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh through letter for deployment of more number of police force for East Delhi. The MP said the number of police in East Delhi parliamentary area is lower compared to other areas.
Police administration is trying very hard for security and traffic in this area which is commendable but due to the low number of police, problems are arriving in the law and order system in East Delhi, he said.
The MP said we should be sensitive to the safety of women, children and the elderly.
“Most of the days, there are many incidents of snatching, burglary, robbery etc. are happening. People feel insecure in public places. Of course, Delhi Police is fully competent to provide the public with a safe environment, but the police should be more vigilant against anti-social elements. The public should also help Delhi Police personnel by becoming their eyes and ears in maintaining law and order, said the MP, adding that we do not have to fear any criminal or criminal elements.
“We should immediately inform police about criminals and their activities so that we can protect ourselves and contribute to protect others.”
Girri said the environment of fear can be overcome only by awareness. “Therefore, I appeal to the people not to tolerate and ignore any kind of criminal activities and immediately inform police,” said the MP, adding that in view of security CCTV cameras have been installed around Delhi-UP border and in other places installation of CCTV cameras work are going on.
