A man, who had kidnapped two minor children to pressurise their mother to marry him, has been arrested with police claiming to have successfully cracked the case and recovering the two children aged about 10 years old and 8 years old.
The accused Zakir urf Raja Khan of Loni has been arrested, said police, adding that he was a permanent resident of Kolkata (West Bengal). After receiving a complaint on July 18 that the children were abducted from school, police formed a team to crack the case.
During investigation, police found that the suspect was mounting pressure on the wife of complainant to withdraw police complaint and leave her husband and marry him.
After prolong searches at various places, police were able to nab the accused. During interrogation it was found that on the date of incident that an altercation had taken place between the complainant and suspect, and he kidnapped both the children to take revenge and to pressurise the mother to marry him, said police.
The accused came in contact with the mother of both the children about two years ago through a missed call, they said.
Police suspect that the accused not formally educated didn’t leave any trail as he bought his mobiles on fake IDs. However, it was his obsession with using social media, including Facebook and WhatsApp that helped police reach Zakir, a fruit seller.
