Justice has eluded a Jamia Nagar-based father Salim who on November 17 had lost his young son in a freak road accident in Noor Nagar. After hitting the youth, who was inspecting a bus run by his father on a roadside on that fateful day, the woman driver apparently made her way leaving behind her mangled car as passersby were busy taking care of the injured boy.
Since then nobody in the locality knows where the woman has gone. Residents claimed that she was a local. Moreover, now victim’s family members too have given up all hope of getting justice, said a reporter, who reported the incident from ground zero.
The death of Aziz Ahmed in the road accident had left residents stumped. The report had solicited comments on the social media with one reader, Adil Anwer, writing: “Probably this is the 10th or more than that accident that took place in this year due to rash driving. Why don’t people understand that everyone’s life matters?”
Rash driving has turned out to be a major issued in Jamia Nagar, a deprived locality of Delhi with several cases of road rage and deaths being reported. Residents still recount the death of a 40-year-old woman resident, who was hit by a speeding biker in Abul Fazal Enclave. After hitting the woman, the driver had made his way. The woman was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
