AAP candidate from 101 S Sarita Vihar in Okhla Juhi Khan gets into MCD election mode. To win hearts and minds of voters in her wards, Khan has started door-to-door campaign.
It was a few days ago when the AAP had announced her name. Following which Khan’s son Nabeel Khan wrote: “My mom has been selected as the AAP candidate from ward number 101 S Sarita Vihar.”
Well-known in Okhla, Khan joined AAP after resigning from DCW over AAP leader Kumar Vishawas issue that was covered well in the media.
“I am resigning in protest,” said Khan, leaving the media meet then and there. “DCW is a constitutional body for addressing problems being faced by women. It should not be used as a political platform, but Barkha is doing exactly that by targeting Vishwas. Nowhere has the complainant said Vishwas has harassed her. Ideally we should be first investigating it and then calling such press conferences,” Khan had told Mail Today.
Khan runs several schools in Jamia Nagar and is different from other women candidate in the sense that she has her own view on politics and other local issues that matter in the locality.
Women security is top on Khan’s agenda.
