Many Johri Farm residents heaved a sigh of relief a few days ago after they came to know that a man, who had been giving them sleepless nights, was caught by vigilant guards of the locality. A residents on the condition of anonymity said the man was thrashed and then handed over to the authorities.
Residents lamented that for more than three months the man, who is claimed to be from Assam, was targeting flats in the locality one by one. However, he had no idea that his act was being captured on the CCTV installed in several flats in Johri Farm.
And just last week when he turned up in the locality to steal some items from a flat, guards, who were waiting for him, nabbed him, said the source.
A resident whose house was also targeted said residents have heaved a sigh of relief. Cases of robbery have seen an increase in the locality, lamented residents. A resident said how during ramzan, a gang of robbers was hyper active in the locality, targeting houses between after Fajar prayer when most people used to hit bed.
Moreover, several cases have surfaced in the locality in which robbers have been found targeting houses during Friday prayer when many people visit local mosques.
