Understanding contemporary Brazil to be made easy at Jamia

The Centre for European and Latin American Studies in collaboration with Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is going to organize a symposium on “Understanding Contemporary Brazil” on August 8 at 11.30 AM in Tagore Hall, Dayare-i-Mir Taqi Mir, Administrative Block, JMI.
H.E. Mr. Carlos Duarte, Ambassador to Brazil to India will deliver his inaugural address on this occasion, according to university release.
Prof. Sonya Surabhi Gupta, Director, Centre for European and Latin American Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia will deliver the Introductory Remarks.
Prof. T.C.A. Rangachari, Director, Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia shall Chair the Inaugural Session.
The speakers at the symposium include Dr. George Wink from the Institute of Latin American Studies, Freie University, Berlin; Prof. Mohammed Gulrez, Director of the Centre for South African and Brazilian Studies, Aligarh Muslim University and S Abdul Baseer, a Research Scholar from the Centre for European and Latin American Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia.
Dr. Ravi Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, South Asian University, New Delhi shall chair the above session.
